Exact Aviation 12 year anniversary

A Brief History of My Career in Aviation

After a short stint at Canterbury University I decided one day that all I wanted was a career in Aviation. My older brother Jason got me interested in all things “aircraft” from a very young age.  I used to pass him tools in a small hangar at Shoreham Airport and marvel at all the light aircraft around me. Jason was the youngest person in the UK to accomplish his gliding solo flight on his 16th birthday and worked his way up to training captain at Virgin Atlantic.

Sadly he is not here to see my success today but I hope he would have been proud of my achievements. I am so very grateful to him for getting me started on my journey with Exact Aviation.  He gave me the confidence and support to advance my career in Private Jet Broking and for that I will be forever thankful.

My first day in Cabin Crew Training with Thornton Brown Group back in 1996 was certainly not what I was expecting.  I arrived at Cambridge Airport ready to start my training course but instead of a classroom I was given some wire wool and asked to polish the under belly of a Tristar L1011 aircraft.  I think I was the only person in the group who was absolutely delighted to get up close to such a magnificent flying machine!

TBG went into administration a few years later but with Aviation in my blood I applied for British Airways Cabin Crew and was delighted to get the job.  Over the years I had my fair share of emergencies.

Engine failure, oven fire, landing gear failure to name but a few and I also had to endure 3 aircraft lightning strikes. It didn’t take me long to realise I was at my best when under pressure!

Whilst I loved every minute of my flying career I realized that I wanted to explore other parts of the industry.

Over the following 28 years I worked in many different areas of Aviation including Airline Start Up projects, Airport Evaluations, Aircraft valuations, Commercial leasing and cargo charters before finally settling in the Private Jet Broker sector.  I have had some interesting charters over the years including flying a Sea Lion to Israel, Hooded Eagles to the UAE and have flown a plethora of A list celebrities, pop stars, footballers and Royalty.

This wealth of experience and knowledge, coupled with my love for the industry has enabled me to provide a level of service to my loyal clients that is a rarity in this day and age.

Exact Aviation will continue to provide unparalleled service to it’s clients and I would like to personally thank everyone that has supported me on this amazing journey.
